Many Minnesota cities offer and encourage residents to participate in ride-along programs offered by emergency service departments. These programs offer residents a first-hand look at the day-to-day activities of city staff. These programs, however, come with inherent risks that cities should seek to mitigate. A Risk Information Memo from the League outlines issues to consider, the value of waivers and releases, and more.
