Mahtomedi City Councilmember Richard Brainerd named as League of Minnesota Cities president for 2010-2011

(June 24, 2010—St. Cloud, Minn.) City of Mahtomedi Councilmember Richard Brainerd was elected today to serve as the President of the League of Minnesota Cities for 2010-2011. The election was held at the League’s Annual Conference in St. Cloud.

Prior to his election Brainerd served as First Vice-President of the League, and he currently chairs the organization’s Future of the League Task Force. He has also served as a member of the Human Development and Policy Advocacy Committee, and the Intergovernmental Relations Policy and Advocacy Committee for the National League of Cities. Brainerd is currently employed as an independent consultant in human resources.
