The League invites members to submit comments on the draft policies until Nov. 7. All member comments will be shared with the League Board of Directors before the Board takes final action on the policies in November. The policies will serve as a framework for the League’s advocacy efforts during the 2009 legislative session.

The LMC 2008 City Policies, a guide describing more than 100 issues affecting cities, serves as the foundation of the League’s legislative and administrative advocacy efforts.
Policies are informed by input from hundreds of city officials from across the state participating in the League’s four policy committees, regional meetings, annual conference, and many other member meetings.
Each year, the League Board of Directors also narrows down the city policies to develop its top legislative policy priorities.
League policies cover the following areas:
