Yesterday, the National League of Cities (NLC) organized a conference call with state municipal leagues to discuss the pending fiscal cliff and its implications for states and cities. News related to the negotiations is in flux, but NLC continues to encourage city officials to contact their Congressional representatives and the White House with concerns.
During the conference call, Barry Anderson, Deputy Director of the National Governors Association, briefly outlined the status of negotiations as of yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. In summary:
NLC continues to update its toolkit for cities to advocate to members of Congress and the President.
LMC wrote a recent Cities Bulletin article on the municipal bond interest issue.
