Minnesota cities can get coverages for Property/Casualty and Workers' Compensation from LMCIT. Each program addresses the unique needs of cities that most private industry insurance doesn’t address well. Please visit the Workers' Compensation part of the site to learn more.
More than 1,100 members participate in the Property/Casualty program, and more than 900 members participate in the Workers' Compensation program. Please visit the Property/Casualty section of the site to learn about various types of coverage available from LMCIT.
Coverages are specifically designed for cities. As new needs or problems develop, LMCIT modifies coverage or develops new programs to meet those needs, such as workers’ compensation coverage for benefits mandated by the state for peace officers suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Underwriters are available to assist with questions about coverages and more.

The League's property/casualty and workers compensation programs are designed to operate through a local agent. The city must designate an agent as a condition of participating in the property/casualty program. The selection of the agent is entirely up to the city, and any licensed agent is eligible to participate.
