(Published Feb 19, 2013)

The Council on Local Results and Innovation submitted its 2013 report to the Legislature on Feb. 1. The report provides an overview of the Performance Measurement Program the council created in 2012 for cities and counties. It also details the work that the council has done over the last several months to modify the program.

The modifications include:

  • Increasing the number of measures that cities and counties can choose to employ (there is still a requirement that each entity must report on at least 10 measures).
  • Revising the performance measurement system document to clarify the requirements.
  • Creating sample resolutions to certify participation in the program.

The council also requests that the Legislature make changes to current law to create a minimum incentive of $350 per entity.

The Council on Local Results and Innovation was created by the Legislature in 2010. In February of 2012, the council created the comprehensive performance measurement system for cities and counties to implement.

The full 2013 Legislative Report and all the background materials on the Performance Measurement Program are available on the Office of the State Auditor’s website.
