Members get free membership to Minnesota Safety Council through January 2014

Getting the safety training and information your city needs is easier than ever with your free membership to the Minnesota Safety Council.

All members of the League of Minnesota Cities and the Insurance Trust automatically get access to discounted safety training, an expansive video library, free phone consultation and more. This membership is available to all members through January 2014.

This free membership—an average per city value of $405 per year—allows all your city access to:

  • Discounts on safety training, on-site consultation and training tools on occupational safety and health training, First Aid/CPR/AED training and driver training/fleet safety/DOT compliance. This training is designed specifically for local government, and in partnership with the League.
  • An expansive video library featuring more than 700 industry-specific videos and DVDs are available free to members. A librarian is available to help coordinate your selections.
  • Free phone and e-mail consultation from MSC experts can help answer your questions about workplace safety and health, traffic and fleet safety, first aid and off-the-job safety.
  • Weekly e-newsletters for every staff person in your city who registers. These newsletters keep your crew up-to-date on regulatory changes and resources to support your safety programs. Additional information is available to all registered members through MSC’s bi-monthly publication, Memo to Members.
  • Off-the-job safety products, programs and materials will help you support job safety when your city downloads fact sheets and brochures on a wide range of topics.

It’s easy to activate your membership
The Council will automatically activate membership for the designated contact at each city, and the contact for each member of the Insurance Trust. These designated individuals automatically will get a username and password sent to them by email.

The membership, however, is open to all staff.

Staff can trigger their membership simply by sending an email to MSC@minnesotasafetycouncil.org.

Include your name, job title, and city mailing address and Minnesota Safety Council staff will email you a unique, personal password within 48 hours.

The Minnesota Safety Council works to prevent injuries at work, on the road, at home and at play. It's programs are intended to reduce injuries and costly claims while increasing workplace productivity. It is a chapter of the National Safety Council.

MSC Membership an Addition to Safety Assistance Programs
The free, 3-year membership in the Minnesota Safety Council is an addition to the Safety Assistance Programs. These programs complement each other, and all work to keep employees safe, and help ensure cities meet their state and federal OSHA mandates.
