A video explaining why revision of the existing LGA formula is important is now available on the LMC website.
(Published Apr 29, 2013)
City officials are likely familiar with a League priority to revise the local government aid (LGA) formula at the state Capitol this session. A two-minute video is now available to explain why this initiative is a League priority.
League staff present why the LGA program is valuable—and why now is the time to revise and update the formula—in this latest video featuring Executive Director Jim Miller and Policy Analysis Manager Rachel Walker.
Provisions to revise the LGA formula have been included in both the House and Senate tax bills, as well as the governor’s budget proposal for the 2013 legislative session. To find out more about specific proposals, visit the Aid to Cities and Taxes legislative topic pages.
