The Minnesota Department of Human Rights will hold a Human Rights Symposium on Dec. 3 at the University of Minnesota Continuing Education & Conference Center in St. Paul.
Workshop topics include the work of the Prevention of School Bullying Task Force, voting rights in Minnesota, the use of criminal background checks in the hiring process, recent efforts to eliminate racial employment disparities, and more.
Workshop speakers include Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, Commissioner of Human Rights Kevin Lindsey, Commissioner of Education Brenda Cassellius, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, Judge Pamela Alexander, and Director of Employment Equity Karen Francois with the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights.
