When flooding hits Minnesota cities, there are many resources available from the League, the state, and others to help.
The Minnesota Homeland Security Emergency Management's Department of Public Safety (HSEM-DPS) is the coordinating agency for flood response and mitigation. HSEM-DPS opened the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) to coordinate these efforts.
Cities should not self-deploy to other communities, but should coordinate their efforts through their county EOC or via a direct request from the SEOC, which will be in the form of a News Release located on the SEOC website.
The SEOC website includes information on all hazards, including flooding. When flooding occurs, the website will provide current information, including situation reports, photos, news releases, and related links.
