(June 25, 2009—St. Paul, Minn.) Rochester Mayor Ardell F. Brede was elected today to serve as the president of the League of Minnesota Cities for 2009-10. The election was held at the League’s Annual Conference in St. Paul.
Prior to election as League president, Mayor Brede served as first vice president of the League and chaired the organization’s Environment Committee. He has also served on the Energy and Environment Committees for the National League of Cities, and on various issue committees for the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Brede has been mayor of Rochester since 2003, and is a former employee of the Mayo Clinic.
