Spouses/Guests are invited to participate in the Minnesota Mayors Association Annual Conference events. The fee is $75 per person and includes the meals and activities listed below.

Friday, May 2

3:30-5 p.m. Conference Check-In
5 p.m. Social and Welcome
5:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner
6:30-7 p.m. 2008 Annual Business Meeting
7-8 p.m. Mayoral Leadership in a Very Public Crisis
R.T. Rybak, Mayor, City of Minneapolis
Join Mayor Rybak for an informal dialogue about his role in handling the media and maintaining public calm and confidence following the I-35W bridge collapse.
8-9:30 p.m. Dessert Buffet and Patron Displays
Enjoy a scrumptious dessert buffet while talking with vendors about your city's needs and issues. Get to know the companies that have generously supported the MMA Annual Conference, and chat informally with other mayors and their partners from around the state.

Saturday, May 3

Join DiAnn Ness, wife of Alexandria Mayor Dan Ness, for a special tour of Alexandria before rejoining the conference participants at 2:30.

7-8a.m. Continental Breakfast
10-11:30 a.m. Board Buses at Arrowwood for Trip to Tastefully Simple
Tour the facilities of Tastefully Simple, a dynamic direct sales company based in Alexandria, offering a wide selection of convenient, easy-to-prepare gourmet foods sold by independent Tastefully Simple consultants nationwide. Look forward to a few tasty samples!
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Group Lunch at Sixth Avenue Wine and Ale
12:30-1:45 p.m. Shopping on Broadway
After lunch stroll half a block to check out the many unique gift, antique, and specialty shops. Or linger at a local coffee shop while chatting with friends, old and new!
1:45 p.m. Board Buses Back to Arrowwood
2:30-5:30 p.m. Tour of Alexandria
Mayors and spouses/guests are invited to sit back, relax, and enjoy a guided scenic tour of everything Alexandria has to offer—industrial and office complexes, Alexandria Technical College, Jefferson High School, the downtown business district, lakes, and more. Look forward to ending your tour with a visit to Carlos Creek Winery, where, yes, you can taste and do a bit of shopping!
5:30-6:30 p.m. Social Hour
6:30-9 p.m. Dinner and Entertainment by the Acoustic Cats
End your 2008 conference experience with a great meal and a last opportunity to network with other mayors, as well as enjoy blue grass and country music along with humorous entertainment from the Acoustic Cats.
